Thirteen years ago, while teaching at a small private college, I was diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome. I was immediately put on medication and given little to no further instructions on how to treat my condition. The medications did not help, I began to feel worse and nothing seemed to help stabilize my blood sugars. After asking around and mulling through some friendly referrals, I found a doctor who had a general idea about how carbohydrate consumption, impacted insulin levels. With some very general instructions from that physician, I was able to regulate my A1C. However, because neither of us had a full understanding of what we were doing, several years later I found myself once again with an elevated A1C level.
This time I was blessed to stumble across the research of multiple physicians across the country: Eric Westman, Jason Fung, Valter longo, Stephen Phinney, Annette Bosworth and multiple others who had been successfully treating their patients with type 2 diabetes by putting them on restrictive carbohydrate diets. Hundreds of those patients had gone on to reverse their metabolic conditions and live successfully for years in total remission. I scheduled an appointment to see Dr. Eric Westman at Duke University, a renowned researcher in the field of Type 2 diabetes. By the time I saw Dr. Westman I had reduced my A1C from an (11 )to a (5.7). The things I learned from doctor Westman and the other doctors specializing in Type 2 diabetes helped me to realize that it was not only possible to reverse type 2 diabetes, but with the appropriate techniques there is a greater alternative to making it happen . The purpose of this website and the services provided, is to help others who want to do the same realize and reach their individual levels of optimal health. Because of my personal experience reversing Type 2 diabetes, I know that there is a greater alternative to gaining control of and mastering your metabolic health.
Thank you for visiting this site and please share the information with those you know and love who suffer from type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, or insulin resistance. Together we can create a healthier tomorrow and walk in a greater alternative, where we all can master our metabolisms.
